Program Details

Now more than ever, adolescents are facing increased social pressure to meet unrealistic standards. This can result in feeling a lack of freedom and ability to express oneself. This can lead to lower levels of physical activity, decreased mental and social well-being, and create struggles with body image. We created FWMY as a positive alternative to help resist these societal norms.

General Session Layout:

  • 8 sessions
  • 45 – 60 minutes per session
  • Each session will generally start with a check-in period and time
  • The session’s topic will be introduced and discussed among the group and in small groups
  • Generally, a 15-20 min movement activity, varying from yoga to dance to kickboxing and much more
  • After the movement, there will be time for self-reflection and then group reflection
  • The program will close with a short relaxation sequence
  • Ends with any finishing thoughts or questions
